Eight medical students on their way to face their new community
It was 7 o’clock in the morning of October 3, 2015, a group of 8 excited individuals took their trip on the way to the beautiful Municipality of Tampilisan, Zamboanga del Norte. It was been a short 4-hour drive and yet it was an amazing experience of traveling together, sharing snacks, taking “selfies”, reminiscing memories of the previous exposures, and thinking of new adventures in our new barangay.
As we were entering the vicinity, Barangay Molos, a feeling of unfamiliarity had surrounded us. But as soon as we were escorted into our new home, we were relieved and overwhelmed by the place and group of people who welcomed us with open arms and genuine smiles, ready to help us be comfortable during our stay. It was a moment of belongingness.
New environment. New community. New people. I might say it is troublesome. But being with Barangay Molos, a peaceful and fun place to start anew, I’d say it is a privilege to be a part of the family.
